Australia: SMS Guidelines

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is introducing a new mandatory SMS Sender ID Register. The Register aims to enhance the safety and trustworthiness of SMS communications in Australia.
1) 1 October 2025: registration of SenderIDs is to commence
2) 15 December 2025: from this date, messages sent using unregistered Sender IDs will have their Sender ID replaced with a generic label such as ‘Likely SCAM’.
